The questions you should ask yourself

Are you earning less than your peers despite being more skilled or educated than they are?

Remember that confidence goes a long way in the career game. Perhaps your peers are aiming their arrows much higher than you are, Perhaps they just have more self belief.

People buy into people in business. You can be skilled to the hilt but if an employer doesn't feel the right professional chemistry then chances are the job will go to someone else.

Do you feel as though your talents and skills are being overlooked?

Perhaps you're overlooking your own skills and talents. Are you selling yourself effectively? Think of yourself as a product that you have to take to market. Often people don't realise they have skills they have so they don't promote them and they're nowhere to be seen on their CV. A career coach would sit down with you and help you to acknowledge all your accomplishments, big and small. Selling yourself is often the hardest product to sell.

Do you feel your job challenges you?

If you're stuck in a job that bores you; a job that you can do with your eyes closed, then you know you're not fulfilling your true potential. Often we stay in a job that bores us because it means we can stay within our comfort zone. Do you feel that despite having the right qualifications and experience there are jobs you can't apply for but the salary is so much higher than your current salary?

Career coaching London can be a bit like therapy; once you've dealt with your career demons you can step outside of your comfort zone with more confidence.

I've personally seen someone who out of work for almost two years, even though they had a great deal of experience and were highly educated. This person borrowed the money to get a career coach and within 4 months of completing their programme they landed a job which paid 40% more than their last job.
